A member of the MACS Energy & Water team was selected to participate in the 10th Energy Community Summer School, held in Tirana, Albania, in August 2026. The 2026 edition attracted 347 applications from 57 countries, making it the most competitive edition to date. From this pool, 40 participants representing 27 countries were selected, bringing together young professionals and researchers from Energy Community Contracting Parties, EU Member States, Observer countries and beyond.
The intensive one-week programme explored key challenges shaping the energy transition, covering energy systems, renewable energy integration and flexibility, electricity markets, energy security and geopolitics, energy law, climate policy and sustainable finance. The diversity of participants from different regions and professional backgrounds, together with engaged speakers who openly shared their knowledge and experience, created a valuable environment for exchanging views and discussing energy challenges from different angles.
Group work, debates and an energy negotiation simulation added an important practical dimension to the programme, bringing together technical, financial, legal and policy perspectives. For MACS Energy & Water, participation was also an opportunity to exchange views on key developments shaping the energy transition and to follow the evolving regional dialogue on topics closely related to our work.
