BRAZIL: Published Rural Water Supply and Sanitary Sewage System Study in Pernambuco

The results of a Rural Water and Sanitation Project Study in ernambuco were recently published as a book:

In 2017, SERH hired, with resources from the PSH/PE, parcialy financed by the World Bank, the consortium MACS Energy & Water GmbH / MACS do Brasil Ltda. / IRC Aquaconsult with the objective of carrying out a Study of Management Models for Rural Water Supply and Sanitary Sewage Systems for the State of Pernambuco.

The main goal of the Pernambuco Water Sustainability Project is to expand access to water, in adequate quality and quantity, and to Basic Sanitation in a sustainable manner in the State of Pernambuco.

With the approval of the final report and the success of the contract, the results of the study were published as a book in 2022 throughout the state of Pernambuco. This Project constitutes the main instrument for managing state water resources with actions aimed at institutional development, participatory management, plans and studies, regulation of water use, monitoring and information on water resources and revitalization of the Capibaribe river basin.
