The LOCOMO Capacity Development Team of MACS visited the Program areas of the Local Communities Project for improved public infrastructure and public utility performance in Edinet and other Program regions of Moldova (Leova and Straseni regions), observing the construction progress and holding meetings with the key stakeholders.
For this site visit, emphasis was put on assisting the respective regional utilities in the recruitment and adequate training of the O&M officers for the sustainable operation of the newly constructed infrastructure to provide effective services to the customers.
In the context of the social activities to engage the public and the local communities, three Eco clubs in schools were supported with activities and lessons focusing on water supply and wastewater treatment and environmental protection themes.
