Another successfully implemented biogas facility was verified by our technical experts in Serbia. The 999kW facility in Pančevo will be running on biogas, with the annual generation potential of green electricity to meet the needs of 1,800 households. The excess heat from the cogeneration unit will be used for heating the nearby farms, hence minimizing the negative impact of such facilities on global warming and climate change. The avoided annual CO2 emission is estimated on almost 4,300 tons.
The role of MACS on this project was to carry out the technical due diligence, monitor the project implementation process and verify the project completion.
The project was financed with the proceeds of the KFW Eco Loans credit facility, in partnership with a local financial institution.
