The KfW will extend its funding to the UniCredit through the Low Carbon Facility Phase II with an additional package of financing, supported by MACS as a technical consultant. The Technical Assistance Measure is funded through grant resources provided by the Government of Germany, administered via the Serbian Ministry of Mining and Energy. This programme continuously aims at encourage investments that contribute to decarbonization in Serbia.
The kick-off meeting for the project was convened on Friday, 23 January, at the Bank’s headquarters in Belgrade. The consultant provided a presentation on the progress achieved to date under Phase II of the Low Carbon Finance program, while the Bank outlined the indicative disbursement timeline and its planned activities for the implementation period.
The second phase places emphasis on a broader range of decarbonization measures, a stronger focus on renewable energy technologies, and the deeper integration of sound environmental principles into banking operations.
Through targeted technical expertise and practical solutions, MACS supports financial institutions in playing a more active role in the shift toward sustainable and climate-resilient economic development. This ongoing cooperation represents an important contribution to national climate objectives and the broader sustainable development agenda.
