Mozambique: Banco Commercial e de Investimentos EE/RE Credit Line Implementation Support

MACS was contracted by KfW to support the implementation of an EE/RE credit line in coordination with BCI Bank, one of the largest commercial banks in Mozambique https://www.bci.co.mz/.

The aim of this credit program was to provide affordable lending to MSMEs and private individuals in order to meet the huge potential for energy efficiency and renewable energy. The role of MACS on this assignment was to support BCI in setting-up sustainable loan products for EE/RE lending, build up internal capacities and assisting the bank with building-up the project pipeline. The administration of this credit program, including the eligibility check, reporting and monitoring of energy savings and CO2 reduction was done through the eSave tool, developed by MACS.
