From May 5–7, 2026, the Consortium GITEC-MACS-WMI conducted six workshops at SEDALIB S.A. in Trujillo, Peru, engaging 80 employees from across the organization. The participation of the General Manager in two sessions demonstrated strong leadership commitment.
The workshops aimed to position the Water Balance and Process Management as strategic tools for corporate sustainability. Although SEDALIB produces nearly 60 million m³ of water annually, only 48% is billed. Improving the management of these losses could increase revenue by up to 65% without raising tariffs.
A key conclusion was that the Water Balance is not only an Operations responsibility, but a reflection of the performance of the entire organization. Departments including Finance, HR, Legal, Sales, IT, and Communications identified their roles in reducing non-revenue water, with a shared target of reducing losses by 6 percentage points by 2027.
On the final day, the Change Management Committee unanimously endorsed the proposal to adopt the Water Balance as a business management tool. The next step is to institutionalize it as a General Management scorecard, with area-based monitoring and goals aligned with the Institutional Strategic Plan—strengthening SEDALIB’s efficiency, sustainability, and commitment to the community.
