Namibia: Support to the City of Windhoek (PEA) Project Implementation Unit (PIU)
The main objective of the project is the concise technical, financial and organizational support by the two experts to the PIU of the City of Windhoek to ensure an efficient and successful project implementation of the projects managed by the PIU, including the upgrading of the existing Gammams Wastewater Treatment Plant (GWWTP) for increased capacity, the upgrade of the existing Otjimuise Wastewater Treatment Plant (OWWRP) for increased capacity, the upgrade of the existing New Goreangab Reclamation Plant (DPR) to extend the operational life for 15-20 years under a PMA/DBO contract and the development of a new additional Direct Potable Reclamation Plant (DPR2) for potable use.
The two experts, consisting of the MACS & Aquarius Consult Team with international and loal expertise, will support the PIU and CoW for the first two years of project preparation and implementation and will provide technical, institutional, financial, procurement and reporting support for a successful project implementation, as well as providing trainings to the PIU in an on-the-job context in all matters relevant for project implementation, including planning, procurement management and documentation, technical and financial approvals, contract clarification and awards, EHS & OHS management, administration, reporting, contractor management and overall coordination.
