One of the main tasks of MACS within the Non-Revenue Water Program II at the water utility SEDALIB is the implementation of awareness-raising campaigns among the population of Alto Trujillo, Peru. These activities focus on working with social organizations from eight neighborhoods and students from eight local schools.
In August 2025, the social team was highly active and engaged in launching the first water and sanitation awareness campaign in Alto Trujillo. The primary objective of the campaign was to help participants understand the economic value of water, and more importantly, to demonstrate how daily habits, at home, school, or work, can impact local water availability.
The activities were carried out in close coordination with school directors, community leaders, the local municipality, and other relevant stakeholders to reach as many people as possible. Children, in particular, showed great interest in the topic and expressed enthusiasm for future activities.
